A Rescue of Pig-Sized Proportions
As you may know from recent e-alerts from Farm Sanctuary, we have been on the ground in the flooded Midwest region for weeks working tirelessly, along with coalition crew members from other organizations specializing in disaster relief, to save pigs stranded on the “Big Ditch” levee in Oakville. Growing quickly into an operation of monumental proportions, the entire Midwest flood mission has resulted in the rescue of 69 pigs. This evening, all remaining pigs have now arrived at the New York Shelter! We invite you to follow our efforts and view photos on our Midwest Flood Pig Rescue Blog. Updated regularly, the blog allows you to find out more about this massive endeavor, meet the extraordinary survivors, keep up to date on our efforts to rehabilitate the pigs and adopt them into loving homes, and find out how you can be a part of this historical rescue.
